San Pedro de Tejada. Last Supper. Jude, John and Jesus.
.
In the western facade of the church of San Pedro Burgos de Tejada, surprising iconography carved in low relief on hollow baseboards, showing Christ sitting at the table with only two of the Apostles: Judas, right and left John .
.
In the table, no meat, despite the conclusion that it represents (Passover) and confronted by two fish, symmetrically, there are facing inward.
.
Although the fish is not part of the Passover meal and not mentioned at the Last Supper, can be an important element in a messianic type food, for all indicates that in the Judaism of the New Testament, the fish was linked to these times and must be that its meaning in this iconography.

In Jewish circles the Messianic hope was symbolized by the fish. So, perhaps, Christians continued to eat the fish with the same symbolism as the Jews who ate the "dinner pure" sacred character, on Friday evening, ushering in the Sabbath. They ate fish as special food, fine, with eschatological and messianic anticipation of the arrival of the coming kingdom. It may be that from here derive the Christian standard of eating fish on Friday in a penitential sense was not at the origin. In the eschatological sense may be related to Christ's victory over death symbolized by the Leviathan, mysterious inhabitant of the seas, as the fish in the early centuries of Christianity had a sense of new life and was linked to the resurrection and not penance.
The character of the right of Christ, Judas curiously carries halo, holding the fish with his hand, he is awake and active. Wait, the messianic prophecy.

The "disciple whom Jesus loved" or the "beloved disciple" appears rested and slept on the bosom of the Lord in the farewell dinner (John 13.23-30) and is the guarantor of the gospel, the new word, grabbing his left hand, as an extension of that rests on his heart (John 21:24). It can be said to be a critical study of the Torah.

.
After the confusion, Jesus announces the delivery. Who is it?, Question the disciples. Jesus gives a password: who would soak and take a piece of bread. " is a special gesture dilection.
.
What we all hear is the words:" you have to do, do quickly " , and given that, as treasurer of the group, it comes to shopping for the feast or alms for the poor. And yet, Judas goes out at night, a time unfit to walk (John 13.30).
.
This iconography is not merely a representation of maimed or simplified passage of the Last Supper in the sense of biblical feast because, "focus" that has to deliver, with this gesture of solidarity commensality the bread is broken and dishonored, but privileged knowledge representation from someone who knows not only his own destiny, but the other is assigned role in it.
.
Even when stretched a piece of bread dipped to Judas and recommends that speed, he is marking time. The movement that ultimately will be decisive.

"Judas was an instrument of God, knowing that the hostile powers wanted to prevent the passion that would allow the salvation of men, Judas only betrayed Christ serve "(Gnostic text).
